HELP!I NEED A LIST OF SLIDERS!

Recommended Posts

I need help! I kind of understand the basic concept of sliders, but it would really help if I had a list to go by. I'm basically a hands on kind of person. I know you can't really list them all, but if everyone tells me their own experience with them then maybe I can get a better realization of what, specifically, they are!!! Any input would help!

Do you mean foods that may cause you to slide into old habits? My sliders are: bread, cake, Cookies, popcorn and candy. So I just don't eat those things, plus these items go against my surgeons rules.

No, sorry! I mean foods that just slide through the stomach!

popcorn and corn puffs, cheese puffs. Anything like cotton candy. Basically food that breaks down very easily has none or lil nutritional value and will not fill you up!

Oh got it. I actually don't have any issues with food sliding through. I follow my surgeons guidelines and eat Protein first. Nothing I've eaten has given me any problems.

Anything that is liquid or like a yogurt consistency is a slider. Avoid it unless you are using it as a meal replacement/protein source.

I think of sliders as being foods that I heard about once in a Daily Show interview with a food scientist. He used the term "diminishing caloric density" to describe the way cheetos and other snack foods dissolve or melt in your mouth. Think of cheese puffs or cotton candy. It starts off big and fluffy, but it melts down when mixed with saliva and doesn't take up much space. Because it becomes so compact, it doesn't take up much room in your stomach and doesn't make you feel full.

Other sliders would be liquidy foods. Don't drink your calories!

Crackers, chips, popcorn, Cookies... They all start to digest in the mouth and break down so quickly and easily they slide right through for me.

Strangely yogert does not. It fills my stomach and makes me full. Probably because of the Protein, I imagine.

I consider sliders any kind of junk food because it " slides" down easily. That's the kind of food that went right through my band. Haven't tried anything yet with my sleeve

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
