I'm with @BLERDgirl. What HR did is illegal. I'd have a talk with HR and remind them of this fact.

Heck, HR didn't even need to know what you are having done.

I had two people tell me not to have the surgery about a week before my surgery. It really threw me for a loop. It made me think about it and scared me a little but in the end I knew I had to do it. Do whats best for you!

Best thing I ever did... Just do exactly what you are told and you will be fine. I did not tell anyone because I wanted this to be about me and for me!

That sounds like a hippa violation to me as well. And the advise......yikes. Any more input from staff and I would be like why don't you go to HR and get my surgeons information then go to an orientation seminar and after that we can talk.

I'm a year out and I remember opinions could feed into that fear of surgery. But I was always like I got this, I'm strong. And now I say the same thing I knew I got this. It's awesome.

Wow.. HR?? Have they never heard if HIPAA?? Someone can not only be fired for that but criminally charged as well.

Ignore those who are ignorant about this procedure. Listen to those who are informed and listen to your heart.

This surgery has given me my life back. End of story.

And I would tell the HR Director what his or her staff did.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
