I haven't been sleeved yet. I'm just wondering how many peoples insurance has paid for plastic surgery. I'm very worried about loose skin and know it comes with this but I don't think I am financially able to afford plastic surgery.

My insurance won't cover plastic surgery after weight loss at all. I looked into it years ago when I lost over 90 pounds "on my own" and then again when I was researching whether they would cover my WLS. I had plastics after my initial weight loss back in 2011 and paid for it out of pocket in Mexico. Luckily everything has held up well through my weight regain and re-loss, so I don't think I will need any revisions, but if I do, I'm prepared to go back to Mexico again. No way I could afford US prices out of pocket!

Hi.

Insurance will not pay for plastic surgery. Everyone I have spoken with who has had the plastic surgery stated they paid on thier own.

Unless they can prove it is MEDICALLY necessary, then maybe your insurance might pay.

I just talked with a friend who had a tummytuck, arms, and neck. She paid over $10,000 for the surgery and that was over 10 years ago. She went to Yale and had students do her surgery.

I had my surgery in November, and to date have lost over 63 pounds, I have no sagging skin (yet)....but I also keep doing small exercises and drinks lots of Water

Everyone is different when it comes to loose skin. There are so many factors that go into it: genetics, age, total weight loss.... There are things you can do to try to minimize it as you go, but even if people are diligent about those things, there are no guarantees. Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones! Keep up with your hydration, supplements, strength training, and moisturizing and hopefully you won't have any issues!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
