Shrinking sleeve?

Recommended Posts

I'm almost six months post-op and I've noticed the last few weeks that my sleeve seems to be shrinking. Not a huge amount, but when I'm eating something that I've eaten many times before and always eaten the whole thing, I now find that I can only eat 75 to 80 percent.

I'm really not complaining because I sure don't want to stretch my sleeve out, but this seems odd to me. I see my surgeon on the 11th of next month for my 6 month follow up and I'll be asking him about it, but I thought I'd ask here first. Has this happened to any of you?

The only thing I can think of that makes any sense is maybe I'm just getting to know my body signals better so I'm realizing that I'm full sooner? I don't know. Any thoughts?

I am eighteen months out and asked my surgeon this same question but somewhat opposite. As in why is it that some days my sleeve feels huge and other days teeny. Often on days when I've eaten the same things. He said some days your stomach is swollen so it fits less and also when you retain fluids it affects your capacity.

I'm so glad you asked this question. I've had the same issues and I was thinking it was all in my head! Lol

I'll let you know what my surgeon says next month, because I'm still pretty clueless.

Ditto here. Abt 8 mos out and it feels like sleeve is shrinking. But it makes sense that you feel full with less if you are watching portions.

I eat the same portion size consistently but every day feels different. Sometimes I can only eat half, Some days I want more (want but don't give in) and some days it's JUST right. Lol its like my tummy is goldilocks

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
