Hi all,

I was sleeved on Feb 19th and have felt all the same feelings you are going through!

In my mind I keep thinking, I should be feeling better already

But we just need to take time to let your body heel and rest

I'm struggling to sleep at night which is a pain in itself

Tummy is feeling okay, all but one of the incisions which the stomach was removed from.

All I keep reciting to myself is 'pain is temporary' we will get through this!

In a month or so, we won't even recognise ourselves :) for the better

God bless and good luck to you all!

I was sleeved 2/19 and I'm curious how long before the pain from swallowing goes away?

For me it was about 2 weeks.

I don't know if I'm the exception, but, I was sleeved on the 19th and I feel better everyday. I am getting my fluids in and I started walking for 30 minutes today. I still have a little pain from my incision but I am feeling better. The first two days home were rough, but when I woke up this morning, I didn't have to squirm to get out of bed. I guess that was a NSV! Good luck to everyone.

My surgery was on the 18th and today was my best day yet. I did get tired a few times and had to nap but during my up time I was able to move easier which was great. I'm also having issues with getting enough liquid. Between broth and Water I'm just now up to about 25 ounces.

Truly...I went through the same thing just a few days ago. Give yourself time. The fluids will come as you feel better. I made myself a Fluid goal chart on day 4 (by 8am I'd drink 4 oz. between 9-11am Id have a Protein Shake, eyt) It sounds stupid, but it helped me a lot.

Can you post an example of your fluid goal chart?:)

I leave 2 hours for the Protein Shakes because sometimes it takes me that long to finish. Too thick. ????

Omg, This and your Fluid schedule is awesome and will be so helpful! Thank you so much for taking to time to post it!!????

I was sleeved on February 16th. I am already able to tolerate fluids better. However, I am still in horrible pain on my left side. I still take my pain meds at night and have to sleep in a recliner.

I was sleeved 1-23-15 and first two days where alright on the 3rd it really started to hit me I was in pain off and on couldn't really keepuch of nothing down and to be honest my way of looking at this...is that it is truly a whole new lifestyle from day to night I'm a Lil over a month out now and it has gotten easier and I can drink liquids sooo much more than I can eat I can finish a whole half a bottle of Water in less than five minutes compared to the small sips I was taking in the beginning of last month don't worry it will all get better with time specially when you start dropping the weight

Hi, I'm due to be sleeved April 23rd.. I was only going to take off work 2 days and then the weekend. I thought I'd be able to return pretty rapidly, as I didn't want to share that I'd be having surgery for weight loss. I thought I could manage since my job is a desk job, however through reading... not sure.

I'm on day 4 post op (sleeved 2/23) and I'm in so much pain I can't even stand it. Everything hurts. Siting, standing, walking, laying down drinking etc. I'm feeling like I should've stayed in the hospital a few extra days because I feel like I can't handle all of this pain. My stomach feels like it's on fire. I am struggling to take in deep breaths. Drinking is weird. I feel it go down my sleeve and it feels like I'm drinking rocks. My throat feels very scratchy etc. I hate to be a Debbie downer but I'm just so upset at how painful this all is. I want to think positively and hope that I'll feel those positive vibes and begin to heal but it's so hard. Maybe I should be on a stronger painkiller. What I'm currently taking is every 6hrs and about 3-4 hours in i am moaning in pain. As for the walking you guys are amazing! I walk to the bathroom or down the hall once and then stick a fork in me I'm through. I don't have the energy and I'm in so much pain. I wish I had the pain threshold that some of you sleevers have. Keep being an inspiration to me. Lord knows I need the positive stories and the encouragement.

I was sleeved on 2/19. I guess I have been very lucky in my first week. I have managed to get in all of my Vitamins, all of my Protein and fluids. I am down 11 pounds since surgery as of this morning. I am definitely ready to move on to my next stage of eating. My pain was controlled with pain medication early on. Yesterday I only took a pain pill before bed. I can now sleep on my sides. The worst for me is my skin on my stomach. Due to the dry heat in my house, I am itching terribly. Have called the Dr to see if I can use any lotion.

For everyone having issues, hang in there! Get your Protein and fluids in if at all possible. I am using Pure Protein powder (with Water only) and Premier shakes.

I was sleeved on 2/19. I am getting in about 1 1/2 oz every 3 hrs. I cant drink anymore then that. I didnt have any pain at all and was able to sleep on my side the morning after surgery. I am so happy that I done this. As of this morning I am 14 pounds down. I start my full liquids today. I am going to try and get a little bit of a Protein Shake down

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
