Recommended Posts

Is this normal? Every single swallow cramps me up something awful. I can feel it travel all the way down then BAM instant pain.

Yep normal, I'm 3 days out as well. Your Surgeon should have given you meds for this called hyoscyamine

I just messaged him. Wish the pharmacy did home deliveries lol. Will have to wait for hubby to get it for me after work.

I had similar issues, but with my esophagus. It would constrict painfully with every tiny sip. That lasted for the first two weeks or so, but it did subside once I was healed up.

I could not tolerate plain Water at all for the entire first month after surgery for some weird reason.... It actually hurt to drink. I'm wondering what kinds of liquids you are drinking? For me it was helpful to experiment with different things... I found out that I managed warm or hot liquids better at first, so drank a lot of broth and teas. Maybe try that in addition to the meds? I hope you feel better soon.

My first couple of days I farted after every sip haha. All I did was sip & fart, sip & fart but it did help the pain go away ????

Im drinking this now and it's not nearly as painful. Water and chicken broth both do it though. post-246605-14244499579884_thumb.jpg

Doc wouldn't prescribe that stuff so I'll just have to tough it out until it stops cramping with every sip. Ugh! Today is day 4 and so far the worst.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
