I am scheduled for the 18th too. I didn't cheat til today but am worried with it being so close to the surgery date. Surely my liver has shrunk. I've lost 10 pounds since the 3rd. Figured it would be more but am happy with 10!

Tomorrow!!! Where are you having your surgery?? I'm flying out early tomorrow morning and having my surgery in Tijuana. Keep me posted on your journey! We can be sleeve twins! Lol

Glad to see this post. I am on day 2 and just have this longing that can only be described as hunger. I have been making sure i am getting plenty of Water. Hopefully this feeling will subside after a few more days. Even tough I am busy at work it's still distracting.

You can do it. Try to stay busy to take your mind off food. Good Luck!

Update: first four days were the worst. Day 5 started to get much easier. Now on day 10 and this is easy. I go through moments of cravings but do whatever I have to do to get through them. I was told a craving only lasts 20 minutes and to be busy drinking Water or do something for that 20 minutes and so far it has worked. 10 days no cheating.

You are on the home stretch. I stayed out of restaurants and away from people who have food lol.

This is also good practice for the next 2 weeks starting this Friday when I go in for my surgery.

I have one more swl appointment and then i start my preop appointment and diet.. Im not trying to tell anyone what to do or scare anyone but my doctor had a patient who didnt follow the rules in the end when your not suppose to have food and when he started surgery, already had her cut open she was full of food. He was so mad because she could have died. Luckly she didnt.. they just pumped the food out and went on with the surgery.

I am going from the band to the sleeve at some point in the future and am fortunate that my surgeon does not require the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. However, the surgeon who did my band did require it and I remember wanting to chew off my arm. One time one of my family members forgot to take home their leftover pizza and I went into the refrigerator and chewed the pizza and then spit it out in the garbage - just to have something solid in my mouth. But other than that - I didn't cheat. I never wanted to look at sugar free popsicles or chicken broth again!!

When I went on the lap band forums I was surprised at how many weren't required to undergo the 2 week pre-op liquid diet and felt it was very unfair. Now I'm glad I'm one of them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
