Feeling so despondent

Recommended Posts

Hi I had my sleeve in june 2014, ive lost a total of 16 lbs. I have a host of mental health issues'.. im probably one of the ones they shouldnt have cleared.

I dont know what to do... I feel like this is a lost cause.. im seeing my md on mon and in 6 weeks ive gained 9 lbs lots of family stress.

I dont feel motivated, im not consistent... just thought someone might have some words of wisdom out there. Tia

I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I hope you plan to see a psychiatrist also besides the MD. In the meantime, try to fight the negative self talk and live in the present. You were cleared, you've had the surgery, what's done is done...Embrace it. Rather than overwhelming yourself with too much thinking, keep it simple. Take it one good decision at a time (I.e drinking Water, getting some Protein in, walking for10 minutes). Everything is going to be okay,

Good luck! You can do this. You need to separate yourself from anything and anyone who isn't supportive. NO NEGATIVE PEOPLE OR THINGS!!! You didn't go through hell with your weight then more hell to get the approval for the weight loss just to go back to that big girl! Don't let ANYONE take your happiness.

Dumb question but did your surgeon have you see a psychologist that knows about bariatrics? Maybe one who has experience with that could help you better?

From what you are saying though, why didn't the surgeon provide this help to you? If there was a question on surgery, they should have been helping you if they gave you surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
