Hi

I have appointments with the Physical therapist and the nutritionist on the 5th of Sep. Then have an appt with Dr Edwards whenever and set the date and wait for final approval from Medicare and then surgery. I too am so excited to get this done.

See Ya

Richard

I am 16 days post-op with my first fill scheduled for Sept. 10. The best meal I have had so far is fresh tomatoes, peeled, with cottage cheese. Yummmmmm! No more mushies! Everyone have a good day.

Hi Everyone!

I know its been a REALLY long time since I have posted on here. I am doing great. I am not eating very healthy... still eating pizza and sweets (sometimes) but I have lost 52 pounds since my surgery on May 9th, 2008. Getting the Lap Band was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have REALLY had to learn to eat slow and take small bites. There have been quite a few times I have thrown up and got the thick Fluid in my mouth (im sure some of you know what I mean) its gross and I hate it. So I have had to learn my lesson (a couple times). I am going to start lifting weights cause I have some skin under my arms that totally grosses me out but I am loosing and feeling great and happy! I had my second fill at the beginning of August and will have another one in a month or so. Take care everyone and stay strong! If your out there reading this and thinking of having the Lap Band done, there is not anything I would recommend more. It has changed my life allready and I know theres more to come! Take it easy everyone!!!

I am just waiting for approval from my insurance and can't wait to see the weight come off and stay off. I have been heavy all my life and want to feel better.....

Holly: it sounds like you are doing good. Exercise will up your metabolism to help keep it coming off! I work out 5-6 days a week. It's slow going for me now, but I finally lost another pound yesterday. :-)

LemonLime: I hope your approval moves along quickly so you can get the show on the road (as my Dad used to say)!

Hey everyone. :w00t: I finally have a consultation date. this thursday YYAAAYYY, and the psych eval is tuesday the 2nd, Hopefully this means I can get things rolling and being self-pay, maybe I can get this done early november. That's my goal. :cool2: Of course, the sooner the better. :cursing:

I just can't wait.

Need help! My mom has a psychlolgical evaluation next week in Springfield,Mo with Dr. Edwards staff and is freeking-out any help anyone can give us about the app. and test after would be great.

Katie is so nice there is no reason to freak out. Mainly she is just looking for areas that you might need extra help, such as exercise, grazing, carb addict, poor nutrition, etc. The test asks the same questions in different ways. They are about yourself and your habits, like do you smoke, etc. If you have a specific question, I'll try to answer it. I had my evaluation around 2-3 months ago and there is no right or wrong answer.

Hey everyone. :) Things are finally starting to progress. I have had the insitial consultation with Dr Edwards, Katie, dietician, exercise rehab, and the 8 hour class. I have my final follow-up with Katie tomorrow, and then it's back on the waiting game for a final consultation with Dr Edwards. :) I am so excited. I hope they can get me in quickly.

After you all completed everything, how long did it take to get the final consultation with edwards, and the surgery date? Just curious. :)

Hey everyone. Not much chatter lately. I hope everyone is doing well. I have a final consultation appointment with Dr Edwards October 16th, I am so excited. I have all the money lined up and ready to go, and even have my liquid diet all figured out. I can't wait, I am so ready to get this done.

Hi Amber,

WOW!!! Congrats on your Oct 16th app. Soon you will have your surgery date , that is fantastic. My mom has hit a medicare snag. She got a call from Dr. Edwards office and they told her medicare has changed the rules and she and all medicare people will have to take another phychological test that consists of 500 questions with a different Phych Dr. at a different location in Springfield. She was to get a call from the new Dr. but, we have not heard from them so we have a call into Dr. Edwards office again to find out what is going on and was told it would be 3 days before Dr. Edwards office will return the call. I am taking my mom to Springfield on oct. 13 and 14 for the lapband support group meeting at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th and other non-lapband Dr. appointments on the 14th. So hope to run into you at the support meeting.

Keep us updated. Susan
