  1. Thank you!!
  2. I'm with ya. He was just making fun of himself, something certain former presidents would never have been human enough to do.
  3. Did you folks even watch his appearance on the Leno show? The reason I'm asking is that he addressed the "AIG fiasco" specifically for almost 7 minutes. Just thought I'd mention it.
  4. Manatee, when you first mentioned the possibility of lipo on these boards, I began to think about it for myself. While I'm still not quite at my goal *points down*, my surgeon said I should look "great!" at 170...just 12 pounds from where I am now. I suppose if I lost every ounce of those pounds directly above my navel it could work! :-) Otherwise, I may need lipo. I just want to be able to tuck my shirt into my jeans! Is that too much to ask?? *whines* Anyway, all that to say I'll be watching this thread closely! Thanks for letting us all in on your journey.
  5. *passes out airplane bottles of Bailey's and Kahlua* Take yer pick....or have both! :tongue2:
  6. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f12/firming-lotion-70727/ Scroll down to see Dr. Shulman's opinion on these lotions. I bought some of the Nivea though, and I think it is a great moisturizer and plan to get more when I run out.
  7. It is probably also swollen. I would stick to CLEAR liquids (jello, broth, popsicles) for the rest of today, then tomorrow start with the loosest full liquids (like a protein shake, but not blended with ice) and proceed from there. If it isn't mostly resolved by Tuesday morning, I would place a call to your surgeon's nurse. Let us know how you're doing.

  10. Holly: it sounds like you are doing good. Exercise will up your metabolism to help keep it coming off! I work out 5-6 days a week. It's slow going for me now, but I finally lost another pound yesterday. :-) LemonLime: I hope your approval moves along quickly so you can get the show on the road (as my Dad used to say)!

  12. I catch any/all misspellings. It's just the kinda woman I am! How much it bothers me depends on my mood, but I really think adults should all know the difference between the "there/their/they're"s. One thing that I see a lot of is people saying "all the sudden" when it's really "all of a sudden". I don't know, but that one never fails to make me shake my head.
  13. I love that meal, Dianne! I have it basically every single day in the summer. Mmmmm...
  14. Great news, amber! Woohoo!
  15. My pleasure, Karely. Glad you like it.
  16. Hang in there! Maybe you could find a Fill Center through this site. Just enter your zip code: www.fillcentersusa.com Hope this helps.
  17. I've had a slowdown in loss because I'm close to goal. Consequently, I am having a bit of a hard time of it now. Amazingly, what has been helping me is to read the following from Goethe each morning. Maybe it will help someone else, too. Each indecision brings its own delays, And days are lost lamenting over lost days. Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute; What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it; Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
  18. Deedra, the fills really are no big deal at all, at least mine never are. You're in and out in no time. The process does seem daunting, but they have it down to a science and it's over very quickly. Seriously. Hi Amber! Welcome. I would think that they would have you all set up in 3 mos. or less, but it could be that they are booked up for some time in advance? Are you working with Mary? If so, you can rest assured that all is being taken care of as quickly as possible. She's a real gem. I think we all wait so long to actually feel err..desperate for lack of a better word...that once we've made the decision, each delay is agony. I know I felt that! Best to you both!
  19. That's very cool! Good job!!
  20. Hey blackcherry, thanks for checking in here tonight. You are lucky to have no gas pains! Take care.
  21. Hey Junior. I see no problem with low carbing it until you get on the liquid diet. If you do decide to do that, you might join the people in this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/low-carb-banders-unite-66859/ Best of luck to you on the 12th!
  22. My motto since being banded is: "Don't look back!" After banding, I started thinking about how my life would be different if I had "done something" about my weight sooner. It did nothing but bring me down at a time when I should be positive and HAPPY! Now when those kind of thought try to gain ground, I just chant my motto.
  23. Hey, welcome! I don't think you'll need any luck with your great attitude. Most people come in here worrying about the pre/post op diet, but not you! As far as getting enough Protein once you move to solid foods, it's not as hard as it might seem. You always have the option of drinking a Protein shake at the end (or beginning or both!) of the day if it turns out to be a problem. Did you have a consultation with a nutritionist? If so, my advice would be to make sure you have their email address in case you want to ask questions without playing phone tag. Keep up the positive thinking and you'll be a perfect bandster!
  24. It's a great start! Congratulations!!!
