I see what your saying. I got a little curious about it because i have met so many people getting divorces after the band. I wanted to know what the deal was... I understand what you saying. Thats too bad that he doesn't care. I'm glad your doing ok. I am so excited about getting the surgery. IT IS SOON!! My last appt w/ dr. edwards is in about a week and then hopefully we can schedule it soon after that!! Hope your all doing well!

Hi, Sorry I didn't update sooner....have been resting. I went to Mexico and was banded on Tuesday...so Thursday was a 15 hour day coming home, from 2 hour wait at the border, to a 3 1/2 hr plane ride, to 3 1/2 hrs ride home in the car.....so Friday I just rested all day....anyway I am doing great, had the shoulder pain yesterday( and my shoulder was swollen...is that normal?) but seems to be better today....incisions are healing nice(very itchy)...and I'm not really hungry at all(just that damn head hunger)..But I do have a ? for u guys....I have hardly had anything to eat in the last 6 days and I havent lost ANY weight since surgery, is it because of the swelling and stuff from surgery? Makes me a little upset...but that is the only thing I can think of....help me on this please!!!Cindy

Glad to hear your surgery went well. Yes, the reason you haven't lost anything is all the gas the put in you during surgery and I imagine you've got some water retention going on as well due to the surgery and traveling. I think I actually gained weight that first week afterward. Hang in there - the gas will eventually leave as will the swelling and you'll be losing again. : )

Glad to hear from you and that all went well. I too did gain just a little at the beginnig. You need to remember that this is a time for you to heal. Pay attention to that. The weight will come off, I gurantee it. You need to heal, give your body time for this. Follow all the instructions that they gave you. If you need any information on what to eat and how much, just ask us. We will help anyway we can.

where in Mexico were you banded?

I was banded by Dr. Kuri in Tijuana, Mexico....my experience was great, the language barrier with nurses and staff was the only frustrating thing. I do have another ? when I bend over I have a sharp pain by my belly button (no incisions there) do you think its just from being irritated by surgery, its almost like nerve pain or something? Not all the time but just if i move too quickly or bend over wrong...Other wise I am doing good, I did have the shoulder pain BAD for 2 days now, the heat helps that....Cindy

I was banded yesterday and all is well. Very little pain (heating pad got rid of the shoulder pain) and I'm getting around without any problems. Now I just need to keep busy so I don't think about food!

My update... he has been served with divorce papers! He has a lawyer now too. This is the beginning, of the end (long overdue). lol He never called me a "fat ass" until I lost 100 pounds. Now that's his favorite name for me. More later, Kim

A divorce is no fun, but I'll bet getting rid of him will be a bigger weight off your shoulders (and spirit) than that 100 pounds.

hi guys, just wanted to say I'm doing great, today i got on the scales and i have lost 16 lbs...I CANT BELIEVE IT...I am sooooo greatful already.still a little sore but no big deal...Mazzie..you and your family will be in my prayers..I wish you the best, stay strong....Cindy

Cindy, great to hear from you and that things are going pretty well. I had 3 friends banded last Monday and they are doing pretty good also. Good Luck to you.

Mazzie. Keeping you in my prayers. Hang tough. My neighbor across the street got banded 3 months before I did and he is now divorced. I don't know the whole story but part of it is that his wife told him not to lose anymore weight. He really needed to only lose about 100 pounds and at the last I knew he was down around 80. I've heard of stories like this before happening. I know this isn't your story, it's just weird how this semmed to happen while you are losing weight.

Beautiful day here in Missouri. We went for a walk this evening and I had to take my jacket off. I think it got up to about 70 degrees. Tomorrow supposed to get up in the 70's. Lots of yardwork to get done.
