I have the most painful gas pains that wake me in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. I immediately take Gas - X but while I am waiting for the medication to kick in the pain is unbearable, literally will bring me to my knees. I would love to read what others are experiencing! Do you do anything before going to bed so this doesn't happen? I've been eating very small salads lately and I'm wondering if this could be a contributing factor. By the way I am 9 weeks post-op.

Lettuce is very hard to digest. Iceburg is very fibrous. If you really want salad try something like baby spinach till your all healed.

You should be all healed at this point given your surgery date. According to my surgeon after 8 weeks your tummy should be healed inside.

Now, lettuce for some reason is very hard on my tummy and can cause exactly what you are describing. Currently I am 4 months post op and still cannot do raw lettuce salads.

I sometimes will put a little on a sandwich and I am finding I can tolerate a tiny bit.

I am guessing this is what is causing your distress at this point.

Thank you both! I figured it might be the lettuce. I wish I could have a sandwich! My physician has told me no bread or Pasta for one year. :(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
