This stall is kicking my butt!

Recommended Posts

Sleeved 12/8 and I've only lost 25 post op. Most of that was the first 2 weeks. This stall is going on about 5 weeks. I've lost 1 or 2 here and there, but then I gained it back. I'm getting 75-80 grams of Protein, plenty of Water, watching my carbs, and I'm working out. I know stalls are normal, but seriously - FIVE WEEKS?! I'm trying my best not to get discouraged, but it's not going so well. When can I realistically start seeing some weight loss?

Frustrating...right?

It will break. I don't know of anyone who had a steady line of weight loss. Its more like stair steps. The weight will hang on for a while... then it will drop. go up a few at times then drop again.

Work you're program. stay on track. It just takes time ;)

You have lost 25 percent of your excess weight in a month. How is your sodium intake? Have you looked at your bowel pattern for relation?

5 weeks seems like an awfully long time for the week-3 stall to last. Usually it's 2-3 weeks long. Might be worth a call to your doc or nut to see if they have any advice. Otherwise, just hang in there. If you know you're making the right choices, it will end eventually. Here's a good article that explains why stalls happen. Good luck!

My sodium has always been in line, I've got HBP in my family, so I've always been careful of sodium intake.

Now- my bowels on the other hand...I was AWFUL constipated for about 2 weeks, then finally all the Smooth Move tea, colace, and Milk of Magnesium decided to do their thing just this week.

I had bloodwork drawn a couple of weeks ago and I'm still waiting for results, but they did tell me I was Iron deficient. So I started taking supplements.

I'm going to call my Dr tomorrow. This is just driving me crazy!

To give y'all an update, I spoke to my surgeon's nurse practitioner. We went over a typical day's menu and she gave me some suggestions. While I'm getting enough Protein for the whole day, I'm not getting enough first thing in the morning to kick-start my metabolism. Also, I thought I was doing well with my carbs - 50ish - she recommended I try to stay below 40.

So...fingers crossed just making a few simple changes will get me out of this stall from hell!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
