Hi Vegas...you have to do what is right for you. Did you discuss the different options with your surgeon? Research your options. My surgeon had me research options and then we discussed each one and he reviewed my concerns, questions and facts about what I learned.

I have a co-worker who had the band almost 6 years ago. She lost 80 pounds and has kept it off. She would not recommend the band. She still has issues with stuff getting stuck.

She also said that her surgeon is doing a lot of band to sleeve revisions and he may not do the band anymore.

When I went in to talk to my surgeon the woman taking my history asked me which surgery I was interested in. I said either band or sleeve. Her immediate reply is you don't want the band.

Both of these contributed to why I did not go with the band.

I personally did not want the by-pass. The malabsorption issues and dumping syndrome just scared me.

Talk to your surgeon and their staff. Each surgery has its place and what is right for me may not be right for you.

I am scheduled for the sleeve on February 2nd.

My story is similar to the one above. I did not want the malabsorption of a bypass, and I was all set for a lap band. It was a friend who was banded 6 years ago that talked me out of the it. I was about to give up the idea of WLS when I found out about the sleeve.

But everyone's goals and expectations are different, so reseach all of the options and decide what fits best for YOU.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
