Where to shop?

Macy's and JCPenny's are great... don't spend too much though because chances are whatever you buy right now will be too big in a couple of months! I found a couple of cute consignment shops that I'm getting things at... one of them lets me trade in my too big clothes for smaller sizes... :)

If you have a Dress Barn in your area it's worth a look. They have regular sized on one side and plus sizes on the other. They carry a very nice label made by Jones of New York called Jones and Co. Their professional clothes are nice. They have great accessories and the prices are reasonable.

I agree with Kohl's too. When they have a sale, it's a real sale, and if you use your Kohl's card and watch for their coupons you can save a ton..... I bought my husband a Ralph Lauren sports coat for his birthday that was regularly priced at $225 and ended up paying around $65 for it with the sale price, my coupon and the additional % off for using my Kohl's card..

Every where and even enjoyed looking in the mirror. Had to donate my stuff so while I was a Goodwill I took a look in their store and ya know what. They have brand new small sized clothes... size 9, 7, for 4.29 and since I was changing sizes about every 6 weeks it worked well. I found a pair of Earl Jeans with bling rhinestones all over the back pockets there and love them. It is fun to try different brands as the shape has changed dramatically. Congratulations and happy shopping.

P.S. Undergarments are the most important and I find Bali works well for me.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I live near to Phoenix, so I imagine I can find mist of these places! It's funny, but I'm kinda bummed I won't be able to shop at Torrid anymore. Worth it though!

Christopher and Banks has a full range of sizes. I currently shop at the "plus size" store CJ Banks and they have wonderful clothing for professionals. They are not cheap, however, they have great sales- I just bought a beautiful sweater perfect for layering in this weather for less than $20 on clearance! I have only been on the outside of their "normal" sized store but it also looked very nice. Good Luck and Congratulations on your weight loss!

Check out GwynnieBee.com. It's like netflix for clothes. You pay a monthly fee and get 1 - 5 items at a time depending on your level. I think 10 is the smallest size so it would only be a short term solution. You can keep items as long as you would like, and when you return it (in the postage paid envelop) they send you something else. I wear scrubs for work, and as long as the pants stay up I can wear them for a while. I'm planning on using Gwynniebee to help with some cute outfits for social stuff on my way down.

I see a lot of stores suggested, but I really highly recommend Wish.com (though order 1 to 2 sizes bigger than you are) and Savers/Goodwill. If you're will to do a little legwork you can save so much money on some nice stuff. some of the best things I wear and get the most compliments on are from Savers/Goodwill. and Savers is really organized too.

Another reason, is we are dropping weight and needing to replace our clothes so often that it doesn't make sense to pay what most of the regular stores are asking for something that will last maybe 3 months at this point.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
