finally giving in...getting a big haircut (4 months post-op)

Recommended Posts

i prayed it wouldn't happen to me, i love having mid-to-long length hair, but my hair has gone limp and thin post-op. im finally giving in and getting a shorter style. on the plus side, i've lost enough weight in my face that i'm more comfortable going shorter (i have a football face like stewie on family guy...ugh).

praying my beautiful locks will once again be there when i look in the mirror!!!

You glow no matter the hair length! You will be beautiful (still).

I cut off all my hair at about 2 months post-op in anticipation of the inevitable thinning. I figured it would be less noticeable with shorter hair. My hair really started falling out round the 3 month mark, so I'm glad I did it when I did. Hopefully I only have a month or two left of Hair loss now that I'm almost at 5 months. It really does still look fine and I don't think anyone would really notice, but my god, my bathroom is like a horror film if hair were blood. Every single day it's all in the shower drain, all over the floor and counter, all in the sink... I try to keep up with sweeping/cleaning it up, but it's everywhere!

Are you taking Biotin? It helps so much. My biggest complaint is my nails have to be trimmed 3 times a week.

Your making great progress. Reward yourself. Put some color in. Go all out. I went bleach blonde and pulled it off. :D

My hair was almost to my bra strap. I got it cut pretty short. Just praying what I have left does not fall out.

That's about how much I cut off. If you look at my gallery, you can see how long my hair was in my before pictures and then how long it was a few weeks ago in my progress pictures. Those progress pictures were taken about 3 months after I cut it all off, so it had grown out some by that point.

It will look great! I finally broke down and cut my hair too. I cut it into a asymmetrical bob and have gotten nothing but compliments since.

My Hair loss has way slowed down and I believe I am back on the upswing. You will too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
