Frustrated in Kansas!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 12/12/14 and had post OP appt on 12/22. I weighed myself today and I'm only 8 lbs done since my post op appt and 24 lbs down since my pre OP appt on 11/17. I am eating all what I should and getting in my fluids. My doctor has told me I'll lose slowly cause I don't have a ton to lose (SW 232 CW 208). I plan to start at a gym on Friday which should help, but I still can't do strenuous exercise! Thanks in advance for your comments/words of wisdom!

Stay away from the scale. It will make you crazy. Also you don't need to do strenuous exercise, but you need to exercise consistently. A 30 minute walk each day is just as beneficial.

I'm also from Kansas....where were you sleeved? I agree, the scale will make you nuts, but I understand the want to check and be validated. I've been walking 30 min a day since I'm still not allowed strenuous exercise and it has been helping.

I have only weighed myself once at home since my surgery, which was 12-12, so one check in in a month is not bad, in my opinion & necessary!

I was sleeved through Dr Hoehn @ KC Bariatric.

understandable. I was done in Topeka at Tallgrass. Keep doing the right thing and trusting that this process will work...

It really depends on the person. If you can stand daily or weekly weighing without freaking out, then go for it. If you can't then stay off the scale and look at other NSV. Taking your measurements (neck, boobs, waist & hips) is a good alternative. I didn't get my first weight check until my 2 week checkup and was pleasantly surprised. However I know from previous weight loss attempts that the scale makes me crazy. Instead of focusing on eating properly and getting exercise I am worried about what the scale says. I therefore limit it to once a month, preferably at the doctor's office.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
