[meta] Tradingsizes.com - a website to help manage your clothing swaps

Recommended Posts

First off let me commend all of you on your journeys. My mom underwent gastric bypass about 16 years ago and it changed her life then and has continued to help her live a life that she never would have been able to.

I wanted to share with all of you members a website my wife and I are creating to help manage your clothing swap items and also a place where you might be able to find something for yourself!

It's called TradingSizes.com and we're currently open for signups (for always free!) at http://beta.tradingsizes.com and would love it if you could give it a try, list some items, find some items you like and put in a request!

We just launched the site a few days ago and are very much in an early beta but i'd like to "stock the shelves" so to speak so we can make sure everyone has a good community pool of clothing to pick from.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the site.

Thanks,

Joel

thanks for checking out the site! right now things may seem a bit sparse but what we are hoping to deliver on is a site where folks can upload their items they wish to swap away into an easily searchable repository. With the upside being that once there is a bit more of a supply that you would be able to find new items that you can replace your currently listed items with. So just create an item for anything you'd like to get rid of and if someone is interested they can request the item. From there you will receive a message and you can continue with the swap from there.

Or are you just doing a straight across swap with someone?

then the fun begins :)

seriously though i'm working on ways to help the item lister as much as possible with making the best decision for who receives their item. In a perfect scenario you would list an item, 4 people would request it, all of them living on the coast farthest from you but one is just a few states over. They post a message with their request explaining their recent weight loss, nobody else posts a message. Long story short you would have to decide between the requests. Right now I think communication prior to accepting or declining the request isn't possible (unless you opened a new message with the person's name manually) but like I said i want to be able to make all of this as streamlined as possible.

Another point of information to decide will be a site karma type thing, so if the person requesting the item has listed 3 of their own items and like your garment because it's their new size you would see that they are an active member of the community - a much better option to send to them than a few people who haven't listed anything.

I'd love any feedback any of you have regarding the site or features you'd like to see :)

And they pay the shipping

For now that can be arranged once the request has been approved and the dialog between the two have been established.

I would love for a lister to be able to link a payment vendor (like stripe or Amazon payments) so they could at least insist that the requester pays shipping - and the requester has a convenient way to pay with CC through a trusted payment provider. I just wish I had more hours in the day!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
