Vegetable Question

Recommended Posts

I find myself wondering if it's fine to use V-8 juice as your source of getting in all of your vegetables or is it a complete no-no? Would it be okay once in awhile, all the time, or never? If not V-8 juice then how about homemade vegetable juice?

Just curious what everyone thinks about this topic and/or what your doctors have said about it.

Thank You,

S.

In my opinion, beloved V8 juice is a no-no early out. I absolutely LOVE it; however, (one serving 11.5oz can) even low sodium, has too many carbs (15) and too many sugars (12). I am still slightly diabetic, and even 4 ounces of it raises my blood sugar too much, usually in the mid 200's. If your NUT says you can have 2 or 3 ounces, then it may become a choice for you. I'm not sure about any homemade varieties.

Nothing beats the real thing. I'll always vote real veggies over juiced, not only because it's a lot healthier but because they will fill you up a lot more and longer than any liquid will. If you're at or around the weight you want to be then it's okay to indulge once in a while if you really enjoy drinking it [i love the stuff too] but that's just it - it should be a nice treat - not in any way your source of vegetables. It's really not nearly as good for you as advertised. Is it better than soda or another sugary beverage? Hell yes, and that's what you should have if you're craving something bad for you as a healthier alternative - but that's it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
