What's your sweet treat?

Recommended Posts

I have the biggest sweet tooth! Before surgery I could sit down and eat an entire bag of Cookies no problem :/... after surgery I'm finding that I still crave sweets but want to make healthy choices. My go to's so far have been Greek Yogurt with slivered almonds or Strawberries and blueberries with sugar free cool whip. Wondering what everyone else eats when they crave a goodie?

Coffee! I found some really great sugar free Creamers that taste really good. It helps when I'm craving something sweet and does not have many calories.

Power pudding!

Sugar free/fat free Jello pudding + Protein powder + greek yogurt (or cottage cheese) + unsweetened almond milk.

Sometimes I add sugar free Torani Syrup for a twist on flavor. Like today I had: chocolate pudding + sugar free Torani Almond Roca flavor + 1/2 scoop chocolate Protein Powder + greek yogurt + unsweetened almond milk.

I blend using an immersion blender.

I eat half in the morning and half in the evening.

Really fast ones are Dole strawberry dippers from the frozen food aisle. It's basically a whole strawberry split in four pieces and each piece is dipped in dark chocolate. 60 calories, 4 grams of fat, 6 carbs, 0 Protein. I don't do them often but only when I'm really craving something like a cookie and the protein yogurts don't do it for me.

Once in a while, I take Peanut Butter and mix it in with chocolate Protein powder and roll into balls about the size of chocolate covered cherries. A couple of times, I have done that and then rolled them in melted dark chocolate.

I'm mostly satisfied with fruit, but my go to is still chocolate. I go back and forth between basic mini Reese's Peanut Butter cup or fancy dark chocolate with sea salt. I'm partial to brand like Vosges or Lindtz. The different is now one tiny piece completely satisfied me and they truly are occasional treats and not daily or even weekly treats.

Frozen Greek yogurt. Feels like ice cream but 1/2 c is 6 grams of Protein and it replaces ice cream.

I keep a bag of mini York peppermint patties in the freezer for when I can't get that chocolate craving satisfied. They sooth the beast when I need it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
