Did you spouse diet with you?

Recommended Posts

I have to give a shout out to supportive significant others! I'm 9 weeks out and I'm down 40 pounds... Yay for me BUT my dear hubby who has helped me empty every cabinet and the refrigerator in preparation for my surgery and a healthier life style has lost 45! I'm so incredibly proud of him and thankful for the support he has shown me ☺️ not that he is in here or will ever see this. Just wanted to share how much further I think one gets with the true support of loved ones! Here is a pic of hubs!! post-239344-14202628501864_thumb.jpg

Heck no he didn't! My husband is a mailman so he walks "12 miles a day" (I hear that alllllll the time) any who he's all slim and trim(of course). He was/is very supportive though! Sometimes I wish he was big so he could do this with me but he's not...what can you do?! That's awesome that you and the hubs where able to do it together!! What a sweetie! @@kikicoates78

That's awesome! Congrats to you both!! :)

My hubby really only would like to lose 5-10lbs but he is so supportive of me. In fact I just ordered more powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder, not for me but for him and my daughter they like to use it to make shakes for Breakfast and lunch. Neither my daughter or my husband have a weight problem, but we are all eating healthier due to the changes that I am going thru.

I love to hear about supportive families, it is really important to have that support in your immediate family. Makes it much easier when times get tough.

Keep up the good work you guys!!!

Mine, too, has been so supportive - I couldn't have done it without him. He's been through most of my surgeries with me, and has endured a lot of *#@>>>>>...... from me. Not earned, not deserved. Thank you, to all those who support us. You are truly loved.

He is definitely a keeper. Although I have had to work harder than him ???? lol I tell him often I'm going to stab him with my fork ???? seems so easy for him to just eat what I eat as much as he wants.... As I'm taking bitty bites and he's still losing more than me. Haha. but it's been so nice seeing him get excited with me and go to the gym with me. I read that a lot of time marriages fall apart.... That u take different paths.. I'm glad he chose to take the harder path with me and I see him finding similar interests (healthier foods, gym, workouts) with me and I'm reminded how truly luck I am!

Yes, my husband dieted along with me since the pre-op diet, and he's changed over to a paleo-like diet, which is what I'll be shooting for after I'm back on regular foods. So in three weeks, he's lost 12 pounds just through diet alone. He's pretty happy about it too. :)

It certainly has!!! Lol and im quite certain the 40 that I have lost also helps that out ???? he has also become a machine. Always wanting it! Hahaha

And my hubby is 6'2. Started out at 336. Is down to 291. His goal is 275. He is a big boy. I don't want him much smaller than he is right now. He wouldn't look right!

His beard and I fight.... Lol at 1 point it was 6" from his chin in length ???? I hated it. It's a motorcycle thing I guess! Haha some of the places he works requires him to shave. So I get lucky and don't have to fight him to shave it sometimes.

Yep. My hubby did and he's lost 25 lbs... not that he was large or even big to begin with, but my unhealthy eating habits rubbed off on him... and I put 35 lbs on him and the healthy habits have now rubbed off on him. We now fight over the last Protein shake and who is going to go get more

We rent out three of our rooms in our house and our room mates complained at first because we changed our eating habits completely, but they now eat healthy too. No one in the house even drinks soda anymore. The room mates have also trimmed down and become healthier and have been very supportive.

Sobe, Gatorade, bottled Water and tea is the only thing anyone consumes. We also found that we were spending an average of about $100.00 a week buying drinks while we were out working/running errands etc. We stated buying sugar free Sobe's at Wally World and we've taken that number down to about $40.00 because we're not going to QuikTrip all the time We also make it a point to keep 4 bottles of SOBE in the car with us at all times so we don't have to buy something unhealthy to drink. I figure over the course of a year this will add up to a lot.

It's freezing cold here, but we try to get 10 miles a week in. Once it warms up again, we'll go back to 12 miles a day 7 days a week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
