Sweet treats without cheating

Recommended Posts

I'm 11 days post-op and will be starting puréed stage tomorrow. I know I have a long road ahead of me, but what are some of your favorite sweet treats that satisfy the sweet tooth without cheating with a bunch of sugar or carbs.

I'm currently drinking a diet hot chocolate made with Water. It's only 25 calories and 2 grams of sugar. It really has no nutritional value, but it gives a bit of satisfaction for something sweet since I'm on liquids still.

I bought sugar free pudding and unsweetened applesauce for puréed stage.

Any other suggestions?

My go to is chai Decaf tea with a Splenda and teaspoon of cream! I'm obsessed.

That sounds yummy. Do you buy an already mixed chai tea at the grocery store and make it yourself or do you get this at a coffee shop?

When I go to a coffee shop I have been ordering a chai latte made on skim milk. That way I don't feel like I am missing out. Takes me forever to drink at the moment lol.

Protein shakes, Protein pudding, greek yogurt with protein hot chocolate mixed in, protein oatmeal (Health Smart at Nashua Nutrition)... I'm so sick of sweet stuff!

I don't do artificial sweeteners. I like cooking up a half a cup of fruit like fresh peaches or cherries with half a tsp of brown sugar. Cook it slowly in a nonstick pan. As the fruit breaks down the natural sugars come up. Serve the whole thing over FAGE 0% greek yogurt. It satisfies my sweet tooth and I get 12 - 18 grams of Protein at the same time. It makes a great post gym. Your body needs Protein post work out and your metabolism is still churning high enough to burn off the sugar.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
