Support buddy needed!

Recommended Posts

Hey! I'm a 20 year old female recently sleeved. I'm sorta going through this alone and it sucks so much not to have anyone understand or even be willing to understand/help out. I would love to have a support buddy to text daily and exchange details, recipes, struggles, and ideas with. Anyone willing to get to know me?

I am! I get sleeved in two days and would love to have a buddy. While I am no where near 20, I am open, caring, ridiculous, and mostly optimistic. Send me a message if you are interested. I live in Southern California. Paula

I would love to take part in this discussion. I am getting sleeved tomorrow!! I am so nervous I am on my second day of only liquids. I think The hardest part for me will be not eating the way I'm used to. I think I dreamed about eating a hamburger last night! I know I'm going to need all the help/support I can get!

I live in Atlanta Georgia and my name is Ashlee.

Hello I would love to have a buddy or buddies to share with , i was sleeved on Oct, 27th 2014. I have no one to really share with and I would be delighted to have a daily chat with buddies and to share ideas it would make my journey so much easier, I started my journey about 250 and right now am 220 . I would like to see the weight to go down some more, I can see a difference in clothes so maybe inches, I don't know, I go back to my dr, the end of the month, and to the dietician also. I am in Maine and anyone please write, thanks so much. Always Donna also Mammysm@aol.com I will be anxiously waiting. God Bless

To add to my recent post, I had a reversion from the lapband to the sleeve. as you can see I did have a lapband in 2006 and now it has been removed, I feel much better now with the sleeve. Donna

Hey everyone! I was sleeping and New Years Eve. Looks like there were a lot of us at the end of the year. I am fortunate, in that I have 3 family members who have had some sort of WLS. One is my ex sister in law and she's a nurse so she has given me lots of support and information. I also have two daughters in law who are nurses. So I have a great auxiliary medical team. But having people who are at the same stage as me would be great. My name is Kim and I live in Kansas. Otherwise known as bfe.????

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
