I had my sleeve 9/25 and have lost 49.5 pounds

Recommended Posts

I am 5'3. Starting weight 227. I feel fantastic, I have lost 49.5 pounds and have recently started a hard core fitness class at my gym 5-6 times per week. I drink at least 60grams of Premier Protein per day, follow my diet plan and consume my Vitamins. My problem? A "friend" had a sleeve done early Nov. I saw her for the first time last night. She asked how much weight I had lost, and I stated, "50 pounds." She then said, "Are you happy with that??" I stated, "Yes, I am an over achiever and ahead of the game." UGH! How rude!! Am I losing appropriately?? My "Friend" just started eating "food" and does not supplement Protein. How can not let comments like that bother me?? I think I am doing well.

You are doing great! Awesome, in fact. You can be the success story, her not so much from the sounds of it. You are obviously on track and have a mission for your mission! Maybe just ask if she needs help, she may really need it and say yes, or it may just shut her up. Good luck to you and Merry Christmas!

I had my surgery a few days before you and am about where you are. This is the #1 reason why you do not compare yourself with others. You are doing terrific. It is your journey. If you cannot deal with your friends remarks then the next time she says something, simply say, "I am doing well and my doctor is pleased with my progress." Otherwise you're going tomake yourself crazy.

@@thintrappedinafatbody42, I agree with the other posts. I think you are doing fantastic. I was sleeved on 10/17 and have lost 26 pounds (post op) A little less than most but I am still pleased. Keep up the good work.

But wait, just a thought.... Do you think it was a genuine question, maybe it wasn't meant the way you took it?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
