So had my procedure nov 24. Battled an infection about a week out. Doing better with that. Doing good with Water and Protein. But the last two days experiencing dizziness when I stand ( even slowly). My BP remains around 110/80 so it's not that. No signs of dehydration. Maybe it's my blood glucose level. I don't know. I nearly pass out if I stand too quickly. Anyone else experiencing that?

May I ask how you are taking your blood pressure? A blood pressure can read normal when your sitting and drop when you stand up its called Orthostatic hypotension. Try taking your Bp in a seated position and then take one immediately after you stand up to rule out a Bp issue. If you are diabetic it could very easily be your BS, and even if your not. Do you have a glucose meter?

I had a couple dizzy spells in my first few weeks. I never figured out why but it got better.

I am 9 months post op and still get momentary dizziness if I am bending over and stand up quickly. I think its common, but I don't exactly know why. I have heard many reasons that you could get dizzy in that situation (blood Sugar level, Orthostatic hypotension, etc.) , but don't know why it happens to me personally. As a footnote, I never had it pre-op.

If you can take your pulse that is probably better than blood pressure. I had a complication after surgery called atrial fibrillation and although my blood pressure was a bit higher for me than normal, my heart rate when I stood up would be near 200 beats a minute...which definitely causes dizziness....is there any way you can stop by your doctor's office just to let them listen to your heart?

I had a doc appt today and was told that it could be due to needing to drink more Water or because my calorie intake is so low. I was told that if it keeps happening, to try upping my calorie intake a bit.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
