Honestly? I didn't even *want* food for a while. By the time I did want food, I was on the mushy stage.< /p>

I didn't want food but if I smelled or saw something delicious I would want it. Those first few weeks sucked for me.

You should call your doc and let him/her know you are starving lol. You could pop a suture (ouch)! This is usually the time you start to realize what is real hunger and head hunger.

I wanted food badly too, couldn't wait to get to the soft stage. I had a lot of savory foods (puréed black bean Soup, veggies Soups with cheese like parmesan or cheddar melted in), plus I put Protein Powder in veggie/fruit juices to get me through the first 10 days (I could not stomach the Protein Shakes post-surgery, although I had liked them just fine pre-op). If you eat something solid it could get stuck or cause pain since your insides are inflamed and still healing.

I'm only 3 days post op. I am still on liquids at the moment. And I cant wait to finally eat regular food! How did everyone else handle not having food?

I had no desire to eat for days. I was coming up on a week before I even felt any type of hunger at all. I had to make myself drink my shakes. But after a week or so, my appetite came back. Then I was hungry every 3 hours until I got my fill 3 weeks later. Now it takes me about 4.5 hours to feel hungry after a meal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
