Nervous about NUT

Recommended Posts

Today I see the nutritionist. I'm nervous about it because when I last saw the surgeon, on 11/6, I was 10 lbs lighter than I am now. My insurance already approved me, and I'm scheduled for surgery on 12/29. This is my last Dr's appt before surgery, but I'm afraid the nutritionist will change all that because I've gained more weight. Of course it's my fault I've gained, because I'm eating everything I feel I can't have after surgery, but can it be delayed due to weight gain?! My Dr. doesn't require a 2 week pre-op diet, but I am putting myself on one starting Monday, exactly 2 weeks before my big day.

If it's already approved by insurance I doubt they would cancel it. They would lose a lot of money. Good luck!

Thanks! I guess you're right! Just worried because a friend was saying they could deny me for gaining weight, or delay it till I lose some weight.

I wouldnt be to worried. Most of us go throught the last meal syndrome. Looking back its not the best thing to do and in not the long run you wont care about what you use to eat.Instead you will look at other shoveling huge plates of food down their throat and wonder how the hell you use to do that. It takes a few months to get to that point. You will have some second thoughts at first, wanting that huge plate of food.

I am waiting on approval from my insurance. I have completed all 6 months of my doctor supervised diet. I have lost 29 lbs. With my surgeon, if you weigh more than you did at your first weigh in on surgery day, he will refuse to do surgery. He wants a commitment from all of his patients that they can show they are willing to do what it takes to loose the weight before and after the surgery. I get tempted all the time to go on eating sprees but I also am going to have my first grandchild in March and want to be around for a long time. I want to be able to play in the floor with her and and do things with her that I unfortunately missed out with my 3 boys. I hope all goes well with your surgery. I will have mine before the end of the year and am extremely excited. Best wishes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
