Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hello there Band fans....I got banded March 28th-2007.

I told myself....Bycyling would be a very good choice. Fresh air, muscles working for the sake of "Cardio". After one week passed--in April. I purchased three new bikes for me and my two sons. I have defeated many things doing that. No more not riding with my children--we ride as a crew (family). We could not conquer the hill on my street. We used to stop 3 to 4 times before getting to the top ( I did). So now the wheels have turned. My kids ask me---"Daddy can we stop--our legs are burning". Thank God I am doing well now. Now with 21 pounds gone---but just riding bikes. I am ready for the next Journey...The 1st fill--I am looking forward to the next 4 to 6 weeks--maybe 12 or 20 pounds gone...who knows...:faint: this is how I feel on many days after my ride. Today--(8.5 miles) It was walking, riding around the fair in my town--but that is what my speedometer said when it was all over...

They are very yummy. I have tried the orange, strawberry, and black cherry. All of them were very yummy. I also like regular Clif bars too. A little harder to eat but delicious all the same.

  • orange is my fav. I've had punch too, not so good.

  • Okay, so you two concur on the orange, strawberry and black cherry. Cherry is my favorite flavor, so I will get more of that. Thanks, chicas! (I gave y'all "reputation" for this info! I still can't be

went to the lbs today to drop my bike off. I rode a Trek road bike....(2200) wasnt thrilled. The frame was too big for one thing, and it just felt...ODD.

Looking at the Pilot, but he didnt have any in yet. MAy be taking a trip to some other shops, to check others out.

Really want to buy from him becuase he is close to home and a super nice guy..BUT HE DONT GO ON RIDES WITH ME...so needing to make sure I find one that I like and enjoy riding...

So many choices and things to consider....

MY wife and I have bought new bikes about ten years ago to help with weight loss. I did ride the kids a lot when they were small. With a week to go for my wife and 2 weeks for me in getting are bands, hope to start riding them in late fall or wait untill spring and then go to town with ridding.

I'm here. I got in a bit of a car accident last night and I am not feeling so hot this morning.

I heart JennJenn for coming to my rescue!

I am okay, my neck is just a little sore. My car is sort of ok. I need a new drivers side rear door. It still opens and closes but it ain't pretty.

BG....I hope everyone is ok...that really sucks......

JC....HOW are you today???

J.......you will be happy to know, I did not like the bike I test rode last night...not sure what the problem was, well, yes I do...the frame was too large, but it just felt....ODD???

Anyway...

Hope everyone has a wonderful day

Not really Tboned. It was my fault even though it was a complete accident. Kinda of hard to describe without visual aides but I will give it a try. I was driving down the freeway service drive(one way street) and wanted to make a left turn onto another street. You can turn from both the far left lane and the center left lane. I was in the center left lane behind another car that was also turning left. When the light turned green I followed the car in front of me only that car turned the wrong way down the street (didn't go to the other side of the median) I realized this just a little bit too late, so as I followed that car the one in the far left lane hit me. It was dark, I have never driven that way before, my glasses give me really bad glare, and I was dead tired so it was hard for me to see. The guy who hit me had relatively no damage and did not want to file a report or deal with insurance and the cop did not give me a ticket. I was pretty lucky in that aspect.

I am glad you are ok BG...

BG

Step away from the icing.

You poor thing!!! Not to toss a pity party your way, but having a crap couple of days with a crap accident to boot, is a bitch. JJ is a champ. We heart her for you too.

JJ, we heart you.

HP, So you see what I mean? You've got to ride those bikes until one whispers sweet nothings and you're like, "oh yeah baby, this is theeeee one."

D, Come up for air. We know school is keeping you busy. Hope all is well.

B, Howdy !

JC, We're thinking on you.

BG - Sorry about your accident. Glad, though, that you weren't hurt.

JC - I'm like you - I want solutions, not unknowns; however, hopefully the delay and change of venue will bode well for keeping your band, and not going under the knife to have it revise/removed, etc.

HP - Good for you for taking a road bike for a test spin, and for knowing that it didn't feel right. That's why it's important to ride several (many) before buying one. It may be that a trek 2000 in the right size frame would fit well, or it may just be some quirky geometry that won't agree with you no matter what size it is. Keep looking and riding 'til you find one that fits right.

J & D - How's school going? I'm trying to get a crapload of stuff done before mine starts up on 9/17...

I may not be logging big miles on the bike, but I have been walking 2 miles a day and riding the trainer for a little over an hour every day. It's sad when the fitday estimate for calories burned due to purposeful exercize is well over the number of calories consumed. It should make the ticker drop like a rock, though...

Have a good day!!

B
