When will my energy be back:(

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I just want to thank anyone who replies ahead of time! I had my sleeve surgery this Wednesday (11/19) and find this place SOOOOOO helpful!

One thing I was wondering, is when do you start getting your regular energy and stamina back? I have had no complications (knock on wood), and am doing well with food and healing. I went to Target yesterday for about an hour though, and it knocked me out afterwards! I just felt completely drained. Not in pain though at least. :)

Just curious how long it takes until people started feeling like themselves again and could do daily routines? I teach kindergarten, and although I am not going back until the first of December, I'm starting to get worried. Also, how long did it take until your stomach felt normal as far as standing, sitting, stretching, etc. This is my first surgery ever, so I think I need to sloooww things down. Just curioius when I'll be back to my good old self again.

Thanks in advance!

@@deannada2 I felt pretty good after a week. If your able to get your Water and protien in you should bounce back pretty quickly. Make sure you take your Vitamins and if your Suregon offers you a b-12 shot at your check up that should help! Good luck to You!

I went back to work on day #8 (last Thursday) and it felt good but I was exhausted when I got home. I've pretty much needed a nap every day since surgery. I hope that now that I'm on puréed food, my energy will pick up a bit.

If I had to go back teaching Kindergarten full time, I would give myself at least two weeks of because you won't have enough energy until then. I taught Kindergarten for one year and remember that I hardly ever sat down during the day. It may be hard the first few days, but you will slowly regain energy once you get back into the swing of things. I still teach, but work in the school district as a reading specialist. I only have 6 students or less at one time and can sit down when I want to.

I also teach Kindergarten and went back to work this Tuesday after having my sleeve last Wednesday. I did not sit at all my first day due to discomfort, but it got easier as the week progressed. As far as energy, taking a B12 supplement helps me a lot! I usually sit for a little bit to relax when I get home from work and then I'm good to go! Good luck to you!

Hello,

I had my sleeve done 11/18/14 and feel wiped out with just the smallest task. It's been almost a week and I am exhausted. Have to go back to work December 1st. Any ideas of when people return to work - on average. I am also extremely hungry all of the time. I am eating the recommended Protein and calories but still can't seem to get enough food to stop the constant hunger.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thank you! :D I'm thinking I'll be good by December 1st! Each day I'm feeling more and more like myself. And my incisions look like they're healing well and healing more each day! Can't wait till the scabs are gone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
