When can I begin working out?

Recommended Posts

I'm a little confused as to when I can begin my work outs. I was sleeved on October 28th.

Is it okay to begin cardio?

Good question. I was going to wait two weeks and then start going to the gym to do treadmill.

I was allowed to do walking right away, light weights (5 pound hand weights) at one month, sit-ups and ab work at six weeks.

I was told I should walk as much as I can and could resume normal workouts at 6 weeks. I was cleared to jog at 3 weeks and I went back to full cardio and lifting at the 5 week mark.

yes. You should start walking ASAP after surgery. Add exercises as you start to feel better. I do mostly Water aerobics so I had to wait for all my incisions to close and the biggest one took a little longer. I went back at 2½ weeks post op. Just be careful if your incisions are closed.

My doc wanted me walking for at least 30 minutes a day from my first day home. At the end of 1 month, I was released to do weight exercies.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
