Surgery is Monday, and I'm TERRIFIED! Am I making the right decision? I've only lost like 6 pounds on the liquid diet (2 weeks of it, and I get a small meal once a day) - CAN I EVEN DO IT?

AAAAGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I had the surgery last Monday oct 27... I was asking myself the same thing but I did it!! Luckily no complications I just walked the halls at least a 100 times a day and showered like 3 times a day the gas pain is unbearable the first couple of days the hot shower helped me. I did get atelectasis... Which is partially collapsed lungs. Even though I was up and walking so make sure you take deep breaths and use the breathing exercises they give you. I am home now after 5 days in the hospital. It's tough watching everyone eat when I haven't ate in 9 days! Out of the list of stuff I can have I am only able to tolerate Water and sugar free Popsicles. I don't feel hungry I'm just used to eating. But it will be worth it. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
