October 2014 sleevers check in please!

  • Popular Post

Hey everyone! I just wanted to keep in touch with everyone on the postop boards now that most of us are done and in a few more days the remainder of us October sleevers will be done as well.

How is everyone doing? Feel free to share any problems, suggestions, recipes that helped you get your Protein in, and any other advice you'd like to share. Ask questions, if you have them. Use this thread as you see fit, but mostly to keep in touch with everyone.

I know quite a few people went to the Facebook page. I know it's private, but I've seen cases where private information was temporarily made public on Facebook by Facebook glitches/viruses/hacks. I know there is no intention of it going public but I rather not take the risk.

So I hope to hear from you all soon!!

Best wishes and good luck!

Don't beat yourself up if a scrambled egg is your cheat you have come miles.

I am 16 days post op now and haven't lost a pound in 5 days, could this be my first stall already?

What is up with me? 5 days till stage two foods (puree to mushy) and after almost five weeks, I cheat and have a scrambled egg for breakfast. I was fine and oh my it was good but I thought I was stronger. As mentioned by a lot of others, I to am getting really tired of protein shakes and broth. Ugh.

My post op diet allowed for scrambled eggs since day 1. I wouldn't call it cheating tho. Now of you snuck a bite of cake or candy... That's cheating. Eggs are still a healthy protein option and some postop diets allow for them immediately.

I keep seeing people talk about stalling...I'm not down with that. Not looking forward to it. Is this just some sort of necessary evil? I assume everyone responds differently, biochemically, to it as it occurs.

most everyone will hit a stall at some points during the journey. Everyone is different. When you hit them, just give it a while to get going again and if still no loss, you can ask your nutritionist for some advice on diet changes to get it moving again. Also, sometimes you are losing inches and not pounds.

@@SimplySue thanks so much for the info! I'm excited but so nervous and scared at the same time. Good luck to you! Keep up the great work!

I found a 3 pack of skinny torani syrups at bed bath and beyond. sugar free pumpkin spice, hazelnut, and peppermint mocha. :)

@ Please! At least you had an egg. I cheated on a grilled cheese

@@sschoch30 this could be due to a lot of different things. Are you taking your pain meds on an empty stomach? That causes nausea. Is there anything that is irritating your sense of smell? That's also a big factor in nausea.

Vitamins can also upset your stomach. I was told to take my multi vitamins day two after surgery.

Does anyone else get super tired and lethargic after they eat?

@@elturner, yes. I do. I had a late lunch today, around 330. Went to lie down about 445. unfortunately the doorbell started ringing, after all it is Halloween, so I was unable to nap. I am exactly 2 weeks postop.

Thankfully I have one more week off, hopefully I can get it together before I return to work

Kathy- I'm almost for weeks now and I'm dro glad that I'm not the only one. I am so tired of being tired lol

I am almost to my three week post op. The weight does stall but it will start again. Having issues with left side pain for the past 4 days. But other than that everything is going good 25 pounds since two week pre op liquid diet.
