So tired. Normal?

Recommended Posts

I am two weeks post op and I am still very very tired. I can't get up in the morning with my alarm which is usually not an issue for me. Is that normal? If so, how long will this last? I could sleep anywhere at anytime. I don't like that!! Any insight would be appreciated.

I am only 4 days out and the tiredness is still plaguing me. I would also like to know from some veterans how long this lasts. I am planning to go back to work today and hopefully I can make it all day, but I am lucky that if j get tired, I can just tired and go home. Have so progressed to food with a little more nutrition yet?

It takes at least a month to get over the fatigue. Even though it may not seem like it,because of the small incision sites, we just had MAJOR surgery, it takes a while for our bodies to recuperate. In the first few weeks, it's important to follow what your body tells you it needs. Once you are able to get in more Protein and fluids, it gets better quickly.

Yes very normal but it does change, probably in about 2 more weeks.... then your energy level will be ridiculous! You'll be like the energizer bunny. Good luck, stay positive, keep walking and drink that Protein and sips of Water -- very important!! and walk walk walk walk!

I am back to work and it's ok. I'm just tired as all heck when I get home. You should be ok. I have an office job as well.

I had revision surgery on Monday. I am back to work today. I am a little tired, but nothing I can't handle. Gotta save those paid days off for vacations!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
