For me the sleeve just made more sense for my body. Nothing was re-routed. I honestly believe my body would not of done well with things being re routed. My problem was Portion Control so I felt like the sleeve would be a tool to help me eat less. It does that. It is still my tummy just smaller. I like that I can eat what I want just smaller portions. I didnt have as much to lose as some so to me the sleeve just made more sense for me. Less evasive. I am glad I made the choice for the sleeve.

Remember, they can always revise the sleeve into a bypass if you are not successful enough.

Honestly, at the seminar the dr said we could eat anything after the sleeve. That's what got my interest. I didn't go thru with that surgeon. I went to the Barix clinic where they told me honestly what to expect. I finally realized I didn't want to eat everything, I wanted to do it right. I wasn't too hyped about the malabsorption and re routing the works but if I didn't have the choice of the sleeve I was desperate enough to take the bypass. I'm thrilled I have the sleeve. Good luck with your decision. I totally agree you can go from a sleeve to a bypass.

I was diabetic pre sleeve. Full on type two diabetes. I am no longer. The sleeve works well on reversing diabetes too. Well, type two. Can't help with type one. All the other reasons why I chose the sleeve were covered by everyone else. But I wanted to let you know it worked on my diabetes just as well as a bypass would have without the intestinal reroute.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
