Drink with straws....

Recommended Posts

Dr told me to not use straws but I'm just more comfortable using a straw as opposed to sipping.

He said u get more air using a straw.

Anybody else prefer straws to sipping....

I use straws as well but waited until the 4 month mark to be sure my tummy had healed. I am able to drink way more with the straw than without it. I have had no issues with air at all.

I prefer straws, but I don't like the gas issues I have after using them. *shrugs*

I use straws. My surgeon never told me NOT to use a straw. I don't have any problems with them though.

I'm 5yrs post-op.

I never really used straws. Probably one of those unnecessary expenses during those uber lean financial times years ago. It never caught on with me. Then again, I'm not a soda-drinker.

That said, I do drink coffee through those little stir straws while I'm driving. I don't have air or gas problems with it.

My bigger concern with straws is: do the have bysphenol (sp?) in them? Bysphenol is a carcinogen and is in many of plastics we use with consumables; Water bottles, storage containers, pitchers, etc.. I haven't heard whether or not straws have it in them.

My health is more important than the continuance of using potentially dangerous straws or anything that has something in it that could kill me. just saying

I like using a straw as well.

What is your opinion on the Spotline Hydracoach Intelligent Water. The reason I ask is because after the Latvian surgery we can't use a straw. This particular bottle is like sucking the straw so I'm concerned. Do you think this would be a problem with air?

I have not heard of this before but it looks like it would work like a straw....

Sounds like a good idea.

I will have to talk to my dr about it.

Never been told not to, never experienced any side effects........I'm not a straw fan, but I'll use them when I am driving....or get a soft drink to go with a lid on it...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
