Second opinion...

I called my surgeons office last week Friday, told still pending. Called my insurance on Tuesday, left msg w/nursing certification team. They called me back yesterday, said it was APPROVED as of Oct 14. Yay! So I finally get a phn call from surgeons office and she again tells me, "well it's still in pending phase, give it a few more days." So I sure did stop her and inform her of the news she wasn't aware of. Shldnt they be on top of all of this?? I had to tell her to call insurance and get back to me, and she hasn't yet!! I can't be the patient and the surgeons office to make all these calls that she is suppose to be on top of.

Relax! Most clinics have an insurance person and they may have particular days they follow up with patients or insurance carriers. Or, they may get their approvals via snail mail. People who answer the phone may not be privy to patient referrals.

A few days here or there won't make a difference in the long run. Understandable why you're impatient but this is how many if not most doctors operate.

Agree with tmf. As your date gets closer you'll want to follow up on critical details but I too learned things before some of my team did. It's hard for us to relax but just keep an eye on things and call them when you need to. Good luck.

Most offices have to have written approval prior to scheduling. It can take up to 2 weeks to receive...be patient! You are approved, it is happening, relax and enjoy this moment before jumping to the next! This is going to be a huge change for you!

The most important thing is you have been approved! Let them connect & flush out the details -- so much goes on behind the scenes & it's better to let them sort through the minutia. You focus on getting centered & preparing for your journey! I know how easily we can become impatient, but you've made it this far & I promise it's worth the wait. You're nearing the finish line -- very happy for you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
