I am having same problems. Had BM day before Nov. 21 surgery (Nov. 20) and then not again until Nov. 28 and that was because I took two OTC Colace and some Smooth Move tea! Since then, nothing. For the last several years I have always taken fiber pills at night and in the a.m. and drank a cup of coffee each morning. Had one good daily BM and I was set for the day! I can't stand this!

You also have to keep in mind we are eating a LOT less than we used to so the body is using the majority of it and little is resulting in waste. The BM's I have had are smaller than my 25 lb Beagle's poos. Lol. I take a Cascara Sagrada about once a week and it has kept me pretty regular (every other day). I also have a giant cup of hot tea before I go to bed and as soon as I wake up.

I've spoken with medical staff which includes nurses. No one will answer my question regarding intercourse. When is it safe to resume?

Our book said 3 weeks but my surgeon said it was up to me and when I felt comfortable and able to tolerate pain. I had no troubles 1 week out.

Wow! 1 week! I will speak with my surgeon on Wednesday. Thanks

I had surgery 11/21. Pretty much easy up until a stomach virus invaded my household last Friday. I've been queasy for the last 24 hours, but Zofran is helping. Other than the nausea, the fluids have begun to go down easy. I actually worried that I drank too much soup broth hot and sour has been my fav along with progressive light's beef pot roast broth only. I can take large sips of

Crystal light and protein shake. Makes me wonder if the surgeon really operated...lol

Anywho, I start seeing a therapist tomorrow that specializes in bariatric

Surgery and eating disorders. Hopefully, it'll be one more tool to help me on my way. Congrats to

Everyone's success so far!!

How are you all doing. I had surgery 11/10/14. Weight loss is very slow for me. I keep thinking I will see a big loss any day now, but doesn't appear to be happening. I did lose 11 lbs on the pre-op, but only 5 lbs since surgery.

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing great!

I don't know how I'm doing... I am not drinking enough and i honestly don't know how I can drink more... I'm calling my regular GP to see if I'm dehydrated and if maybe I can get some fluids.

I feel like a failure in that department :-(

How are you guys getting all your fluids and protein and vitamins in? Can you give me an example of how your day looks with times and what you are drinking/eating?

Thanks so much!!

Sheena :-)

In my program they gave this this to follow. Well, we have a whole book from them. But I hope it workspost-234354-14176748448175_thumb.jpg

This was an example of how our days may look like. We had to do liquids for 2 weeks. Which for me ended today! And today we advance to stage 4. Which I have another example in case u would like to see it too. Liquids for me were a bit hard but with food is being a bit easier post-234354-14176750644947_thumb.jpg

Hi - please give yourself a break: you are only 3 weeks post op and your body is still recovering from the surgery. You need time to recover. At my pre-op assessment I was told it takes 6 weeks before the body gets back to normal.

Right now everything you ingest is to help your new new pouch get used to functioning without stretching it. Try to see this time as healing, and when you're back on solids at smaller portions combined with some serious exercise I am sure you'll see really positive results.

You have lost weight since the op, so Celebrate it! I am 11 days post op and have not weighed myself yet. I am focusing on getting in my protien, fluids and Vitamins which I think is challenge enough: I cannot dictate to my body how much it should lose.

As long as I follow my surgeon's and dietician's advice to the letter that is all I need to worry about. I can't wait to start exercising and reclaim my health.

I feel as though I have been given my life back and I intend to enjoy every minute of it!

Focus on the wonderful opportunities that are going to open up for you and don't limit it by how many pounds you have lost.

Best of luck to you and to all of us on this very courageous journey.
