Ok so I have my appointment with my surgeon on Nov 6th. I was told at this time he will explain the procedure and the pre op diet will start. But one thing that kinda concerns me is that his assistant says the hospital where im getting the surgery done does not require and EGD. Has anyone heard of this before. Now im even more nervous. Somebody please help me to understand. When I have been reading everyone else's post, it seems like everyone has had one. HELP!!!!

Do you have reflux? The egd is only to see if there is a hiatle hernia that would need repaired during surgery.

Shiloh0772 is it a secret group?

There is already a fb group for November sleevers. Check it out! We have some great conversations going on.

Will they consider changing it to private? I've been honest but not completely open about my surgery and this is closed group...which means people can still see it. Just curious. :)

Is anyone interested in a secret group on Facebook? I find FB easer to use then this app and it would be a great way to keep up with all November sleevers. Also secret groups are completely private so your FB friends will not see anything you post or even know that you are in the group.

Yes! Ill message you my name! :)

My surgeon does not require an EGD. He said that if he seems a hiatal hernia during surgery, he will fix it.

I'm headed out to a bday party with my son I will have the FB group up and running before the end of the day. I have to add you as a friend also if some one would like to be an admin and help me manage the group let me know and I will make that happen.

What is your FB name? I'll send you a friend request.

My surgeon doesn't require the EGD either. I don't have a history of reflux or heartburn so that may be why. I do know that a friend who used the same clinic but a different doctor had one fixed that they discovered while doing her surgery so I'm not worried about it. Look at it this way, it's one less out of pocket cost/hit on your insurance!

Stupid question-how do I pm you my FB name?
