Greasy foods are such a bad thing for me......

Recommended Posts

Every single time. I guess that could be a good thing, because they really aren't good for you. I ordered some wings today thinking they would be dry rubbed and not fried but I was wrong. Just a couple bites and I was sick. I still am.

Blah.

Anyone else with problems with greasy foods? I don't know if this is going to be a forever thing or what.

Didn't you have your glallbladder taken out? I believe that may be the reason. Only healthy food for you my friend, not a bad thing, right? If that was the worst it would be okay.

Nope. I still have my gallbladder. I had a hernia, maybe that's what you were thinking of.

At any rate, I think I will probably never eat pizza again. That is the only sad part about it! ;0)

Yes, hernia. I remember now. You had the chest pain. Hum, I wonder why such sensitivity from fat. I have read other people having various food intolerances. But I have also read that they get better with time for some peope. Right after surgery your tolerance is very low specially since all the stomach enzymes are not in place, not to mention gut flora. It's like being a baby again introducing a new food at a time to see what agrees with the baby. I am not looking forward to that.

Also, someone mentioned it took a whole year for her to adjust to some foods. I guess we'll have to be patient and hope for the best.

Oh, no pizza.... tear. It made me bloated anyway but I did like it.

I'm the same way. I've gotten sick so many times from greasy foods that it makes me nauseous just looking at the stuff now.

Yep, I guess it's been 3-4 times for me. I should know better. Today I didn't realize the chicken was going to be fried. I even took the skin off and still got sick!

pizza doesn't bother me, mostly. Its the pizza bread with which I have trouble. Some greasy things bother me also such as a burger (the patty and only if it isn't cooked over a flame broil so all that grease can drip out and I don't eat the bun) and wings. I can eat a small wing, fried and about 3 naked wings, anything more and its Zantac time.

So for me bread and fried foods are things of the past. Oh and sweets. Took a bite of my daughter's Tasteykake and back up it came! All fine with me. I really have no appetite anymore so its very easy to eat my good Proteins and healthy complex carbs.

I don't have a hard time with sweet things so far, but I am not eating a lot of them. I had a sliver of cake about a month ago and did fine.

I have had issue with beef at times, but not always. I think I am going to start keeping some kind of food journal. The time of day I ate something, what it was, and how my body reacted. Maybe I can keep up with what not to eat if I do it that way.

What does the Zantac do for you? I was taking that for acid before. Now when I am nauseous I take a zofran.

The Zantac helps indigestion. Sometimes it sneaks up on me. I have it on-hand for eating out as a just in case.

I think sweets do me bad because bread and I aren't friends any longer so the refined sugar + bread is not my pouch's friend.

Gastric Sleeve.

My dr told me GERD could be an issue with the sleeve. I have had the bypass. I had a pretty bad problem with GERD before the surgery due to a large Hiatal hernia I had repaired when I had the bypass.

Yeah. Mine told me that too. I had a serious hernia also. It seems to be so common with these surgeries....hernias being in existence prior to surgery.

I had a choice between the sleeve, bypass and band. The bypass was too scary for me and I had heard so much bad stuff about the band. Plus, the band isn't permanent so sleeve won out. Best thing I ever did.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
