Kristen's Journey From Pre-Op and Beyond

  • Popular Post

HW: 290+

SW: 260.8

GW: 160

My surgery is scheduled for 11/3 in Tijuana with Dr. alejandro lopez.

Today I am starting the pre-op diet. I went to Sam's Club yesterday and stocked up on Premier Protein (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry), lettuce, cherry tomatoes and grilled mesquite chicken breasts.

My pre-op diet will be the following:

Breakfast: Protein shake

Snack: Activia Light yogurt

Lunch: Protein shake

Dinner: salad with chicken breast

Snack: Additional protein shake (if needed)

This menu has 825 calories, 21g fat, 40g carbs, 121g protein

I would like to lose 15-20 pounds over the 4 weeks before surgery.

I took my "before" pictures this morning in my bra and underwear. I had mixed feelings. I felt depressed and ashamed of my body but I also felt happy because I knew this is going to be my "before" which means I'm determined to do what I need to in order to reach my goal. If I need any inspiration during the next four weeks I plan on staring at those back rolls until I find the self control and determination I need.

I read your entire story today as well. I cried and laughed right along with you. Great story! So proud of you and those bullies at work will get there's. I have a couple at my job as well and I almost hit one one time. She got scared and backed of a bit, but not much. You can only control what you do and when you do the right thing God always have your back. I have my surgery on Sept. 20th. You inspire me. Keep up the good work.

The big day is approaching! I'm scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast lift on November 21. I have my pre-op appointment today for blood work and instructions. I'm so nervous and excited!!!!

Decaf green tea helped me greatly during the pre-op diet - it helped with hunger. I am not a tea drinker, but it was a lifesaver!

Ooh! I love tea! And I actually have some green tea too. It should also help with the dreaded "I'm freezing constantly from the decreased calories" issue I've been dealing with. Thanks for the tip :-)
Ohhh thats why I'm freezing I thought it was from loosing my cushion

I'm strangely cool as a cucumber. Seriously. Maybe it hasn't kicked in yet or maybe it is the awesome anti-anxiety medication I'm on I'm ready to get it done and start healing!!

Surgery is done. It isn't a cakewalk but it isn't too bad. It mostly feels like I've been punched in the gut and every four hours I wake up from the pain of my incisions burning. Then I take more pills and fall asleep.

My boobs were so perky when I woke up I had to drink Gatorade from the side with a straw! Yay! I won't be able to see anything until tomorrow at my post op appointment on Wednesday.

Sneak peek and drinking my Premier Protein! Trying to get in at 80 grams each day for healing. Also drinking lots of Water which makes me need to pee and it is a huge ordeal getting to the bathroom but I need to walk to avoid blood clots.

Wow, Kristen you are looking fab! So pleased to see all went well and you have started your recovery journey.

Did you stay in hosp or were you sent home on the day of your op? I will be in two nights minimum but in the UK we tend to be kept in longer than in USA I think.

Thank you for the well wishes. Feeling very up and down today. Just want to be out the other side!
