my life is finally changing new here

Recommended Posts

Hello I am new to this and so excited to get started with a healthier lifestyle. I am 47 mother of two amazing girls. I am 5'3 and weigh in at 385. That number freaks me out and also makes me sad. I meet my surgeon Thursday,October the second. Can't wait. Have been fighting my weight since my twenties. Only past few years gained 160 lbs. My body is hurting and I am so ready for a new beginning.

Welcome! It is very exciting to see hope, isn't it? I am a little further along (have already had 1st appt w/ surgeon, and 2 nutritionist classes as well as 1st psych. eval), but I don't have a date for surgery yet. But I am not waiting to get started! Now that I am finally ready to make changes in my life, I am starting to try to live the post sleeve lifestyle as much as possible. I have started exercising and logging my food intake, watching calories and fat and sugar, and drinking lots of Water. So far I have lost about 19 pounds! I encourage you to look at some of the lifestyle changes you will need to make after the surgery and start working on them now, so it won't be so hard post surgery. Best wishes for a huge success!!

You ate going to do great Becca R. You should look back. Don't be sad. Things are going to be great. I only need to lose a total of 70 and I've already lost 22 lbs. I'm new too. The members here are so nice and supportive. I saw the 300 lbs. Coming up and immediately scheduled the surgery. Things will change rapidly for you and you will love how you feel. I have RA and Osteoarthritis. That is partially why I had the operation. Also, for Blood Sugar and High Blood Pressure. It's all about Self-Love. Fat or Skinny

, I love myself, but getting this surgery is True Love. Good Luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
