Had my surgery September 24th

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on September 24th with Dr Baranov at Saratoga Hospital. I've been home now for 2days and feeling great.

My recovery has been easy, not too much pain and just getting to know the limits of my new pouch.

I'm drinking/sipping Water, taking in 1-2oz of Protein Shake 3 times a day and walking at least 30 minutes 2 times per day.

I feel fantastic and can't wait for more days to come. My husband, my son and my parents have been a big part of this journey and I think because of their support I'm doing so well.

I also had my surgery Sept 24th! I'm still amazed at how quickly I was able to get up walking around with no pain. I'm still on Clear Liquids for 2 more days but taking them in well and no nausea thus far.

Best of luck with your journey!

Wow, I'm impressed you are having shakes the first week! My surgeon only allows clear liquid for 7 days. Which for me is Isopure and Water. Actually got sick off the isopure and had to stop. Now I'm just having water and fat free chicken broth. Start 2nd week tomorrow and can't wait to have a shake! 2nd week is full liquids.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
