Roll call for Sept 30th...

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

Checking in with the September 30th sleevers. How is everyone?

I have to say I'm shocked at just how many highs and lows there are to this. Granted, I have bipolar so I'm a bit high and low already (lol) but I'm seeing there are days where I feel like I could fly and am SO happy about all the changes, then there are days (like today, when heartburn is radiating in my kneecaps) that I think...well, it'll get better with time.

Interesting little change...the other day at work my elbow was hurting SOO bad. Finally figured out that I now have a bone there that used to be covered in fat and now that it's not, it's rubbing against my desk! lol

Celebrate the little things right?

Lol... Love the elbow story @@PartOfMyCharm!! There are so many changes that we never expect! I've had a rough couple of weeks. I spent one night last week in the ER getting 2 liters of IV Fluid. And tomorrow I am going in for some tests because I can't get my liquids down due to severe constant nausea and I have a pain in my upper right abdomen. The doc suspects I may need to have my gallbladder removed. I haven't even started soft foods yet. Still on liquids only. But even with all that, I am so glad I had the surgery. I can see good things coming down the road. So I'm just hanging in there.

Hello fellow sleevers! I am on the other side of the operation now and have been doing fine. I am a little sore, but I only had 3 incision, and no hernia repair. I am slowly drinking in my

fluids, and have come to love sugar free popcicles! I have been walking, and so far, so good.

No nausea and not many gas pains! I hope that everyone else is doing well!

Sept 30 Sleevers.....Has anyone had a stall yet? i am having my first stall and it is really hard not to get discouraged. As soon as i introduced foods and stopped being on a full liquid diet, i quit losing. I'm considering gong back on liquids only but I can't do that forever!

@@3Pugaliers I've had a rough couple weeks myself. Started on soft food and as of yesterday have transitioned to full foods (I can have salad and carrots...but I'm scared to. lol). For me the struggle has been not constantly watching the scale and not being disapointed that it's not moving faster.

I know the biggest problem is exercise. I really have to get disciplined about that...and discipline has never been my strong point.

Sorry to hear about your hospital visit. What did the doctor have to say? Did you get your gall bladder out?

No gallbladder out yet. Having another test run next week. The sonogram was inconclusive. :(

But I am really with you on the scale thing. I have stalled and it has been 2 weeks since the scale has moved. That is very discouraging. but everyone on this site keeps saying that its just a stall and the scale will move again so I'm holding out all hope for that.

I have started eating a little food. And it is actually making me feel a little bit better I believe. I am totally scared of the raw veggies too! But I miss a good salad so much.

With the fibro, i don't exercise much at all. It's just to exhausting for me. So my weight loss is goign to have to come mainly thru the food choices I make.

Ha... i just looked at your ticker and we both have exactly 51 pounds to go! How are you feeling? I'm really tired still but again, it seems to be getting just a little better each day. :) Hang in there girl and I will too!

How's everyone doing? We are heading into our 7th wk post op-can you believe that?

I see lots of us have gone through stalls. I know focusing on the scale is what most of us do, but what have been some of your biggest NSV (Non scale Victories)? Mine were buying regular wide calf boots (vs extra extra wide calf) and taking the stairs instead of the elevator without losing my breath.

Also, is it too early to share some of our "afters"? That's always great motivation.

Hey Sept 30 sleevers! How is everyone doing? Excited to be starting a new year and a new life? I know I am. Two weeks ago I did have my gallbladder out and it has made all the difference. I feel 100% better. I'm no longer nauseous 24/7.

I would love to hear how you all are doing and how much you are able to eat at this point. I can still only eat about 3 or 4 bites of food before I'm full.

The doc says I can eat whatever I want at this point but I find I cannot tolerate salads. I miss salad. What foods are you guys having trouble tolerating if any?

Happy New Year to you all!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
