Day 1 Liquid Diet... Fun, but not really....

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for my sleeve surgery on September 30th and started my liquid diet today. I am so excited, but know this will fade. :D Thoughts on how to keep up momentum and who's with me??

What are you eating on your liquid diet?? I wonder if everyone pretty much has the same lists.

I was only allowed three Protein Shakes a day and one green salad with calorie-free dressing per day on my pre-op diet. It was most definitely NOT fun. But two weeks after my surgery, I only WISH I could drink 3 Protein shakes a day! Heh.

My doctor hasn't restricted me to the liquid diet. I just have to have a light Breakfast the day before surgery, before 9 a.m., they liquid for the rest of that day. However, in solidarity with my fellow September Sleevers, I'm doing my Protein shake in the morning, light lunch and dinner. I even managed to lose 3 lbs since my last visit to the doc. LoL!

So far I'm pleasantly surprised that a Protein Shake and a couple of hard boiled eggs can keep me feeling full for a few hours. I'm sure I'll be dying by the end of next week after my surgery, but for now, I'm good.

Mine basically started today too and I am hungry.

I can have 2-3 shakes a day and a light dinner and snack. I am ready for my dinner!

I started mine today, although my surgeon did not require a liquid diet prior to my surgery on the 27th. I am drinking a Protein shake at Breakfast and another at lunch. For dinner I can have a salad with some type of Protein and fat free Salad Dressing (or olive oil and vinegar). I am also now completely decaffeinated, decarbonated, and alcohol free! Lots of Water and Decaf iced tea.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
