Unexplained vomiting

Recommended Posts

I got banded 5 yrs ago and lost 30 kilos over 3 yrs - very slow but I was happy. I had some removed so I could enjoy my honeymoon and when I got home I had it refilled. I started to experience unexplained vomiting. It was not a block or a stuck as I know very intimately what that feels like. Instead the vomiting was violent, unpredictable and sudden and often I would not make it to the bathroom. I had a barium swallow but all was ok. I ended up having some Fluid removed as I was so run down and exhausted not to mention highly embarrassed by the vomiting. There were times I would even loose bladder control. I am now back to my pre operative weight and am terrified of getting another fill. I am now considering sleeving. Does anyone else experience this?

Not me. Just wanted to respond. I've read many posts over the years and not one was similar to yours? Has to be a reason why you violently vomit though? What do your doctors think?

No, I am definitely not pregnant. The surgeon had no explanation either. I am now considering a sleeve but I'm terrified that it will happen again and then I'm stuck with this same issue for life. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

It happened to me recently a couple of times, In one occasion I was walking and I cough and suddenly I vomited, no nausea, right in the middle of my living room. I guess I ate a little more than I should eat. But I decided to go back to 6 oz of food and to watch for the sensation of not feeling hungry instead of feeling full.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
