I have a date for oct 10th!!! Yayyy!!! I've been taking Vitamins like a multi, d3, Biotin, B12 and fish oil for about 6 months now. I want to supplement as efficient as possible to minimize deficiencies poet op. Anything I'm missing? What did you take before surgery? And did it help minimize hair loss/dry skin/etc?

Routine bloodwork should alert you to any issues both pre and post op. I was taking a multi, B12, Calcium, D3 and Iron. My 6 month labs showed high Calcium and Iron so I've discontinued those. I also cut my D3 and B12 to 3 days a week. I will recheck bloodwork , which includes full vitamin/mineral assays, at 1 year post and go from there....

I never took anything specifically for hair like Biotin. There were such mixed reviews whether it actually helped. Protein, however is very important, and I always made sure I got at least 60g every day. At almost 9 months out I've had no Hair loss. In fact, my hair and nails grow faster now than preop.....just better overall nutrition I guess.

For skin, again, I think it's overall nutrition. I live in a super dry climate, so I,ve always used body lotions. Postop I switched to a DMAE and collagen lotion to help with firming. The loose skin on my neck, face, arms and tummy have tightened up very well. (My boobs and butt are another story :( )

The only thing on my list from doc that's not on your is Calcium citrate...I'm supposed to do 1,000 mg daily.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
