REALLY Rapid Hair Loss

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm 5 months post surgery and I'm losing literally around 1000+ hairs per day. I can now see my scalp through my hair and I'm sure I'm only a few weeks away from needing a wig. My Protein intake is high (approx. 95 grams per day) and I have been taking Biotin 2X per day for the past 4 months. My doctor wants me to use Rogaine, but as a woman, I'm a little nervous about side effects. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd be very grateful for any help.

Count each lost hair as a victory along your journey. If you feel you need a wig, get one for now. Forget the rogaine. Your hair WILL grow back! It's a reaction to anesthesia and rapid weight loss and it just is what it is. If you're getting your Protein or not, it's going to happen. You will be beautiful with a new hairstyle for now!!

Hang in there. It may get worse before it gets better but it WILL get better! I lost lots of hair between 4 and 9 mos, then it began to regrow. My hair is thickening once again (I'm 15 months post op). I kind of like my new shorter length - I started keeping it short because it helped disguise the fact that it was so thin! Short hair never looked good when I was huge but I like it now! :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
