Okay vets - how are you doing on your vitamins/minerals supplements?

Recommended Posts

Petite Multivitamin am and pm

Fishoil pearl am and pm

Biotin am

B12 am

D3 am

PPI am and pm

Multistrain Probiotic am (needed daily laxative until I started these, now things are normal)

Iron at noon (I set an alarm, but sometimes I forget the Iron if I'm not in a good place to get it out when the alarm goes off.)

Time release Calcium an hour before dinner, (that horse pill is so big it takes up food space so I try to separate from the meal)

I get all of them OTC, (not bariatric vits). It's rare for me to miss a dose. Labs were good at 6 months. My "1 year" labs are late. Have opted to wait for my regular doc checkup in a few months since I'm over the lifetime limit for WLS on insurance.

I'm new to Kaiser Fremont. I wonder if anyone has a list of web URL's where I can see exactly what to buy?

Thank you so much!

I take all recommended ( by my plan, which is Kaiser Fremont) supplements. I put most of them in pill holders (one for am and one for pm) and leave them in the medicine chest. I take them when I wash my face and brush my teeth. I keep the Calcium in a sugar jar in the medicine cabinet. I take three morning and evening and they are too big yo fit in the pill holder. Works for me.. At 3.5 years out and going strong.

I will be 63 in October. I just had back surgery. I had a fusion done. My surgeon said my bones were "rotten" He said they were crumbly and not at all the consistency they are supposed to be.

I am pretty sure this is because soda steals Calcium from our bones. I drank soda for years. I haven't for 9 years but early years make a difference. Taking a PPI which I have no choice because of acid, is another reason my bones are bad. PPI's also rob Calcium out of your bones.

I have been very vigilant in taking my calcium properly since I was banded in 06. I've done very well taking my calcium for the past 9 years.

I'm a nurse at a health and wellness center so I take several Vitamins. Vitamin D, magnesium, and balanced hormones are best at building bone. Calcium may cause more harm than good by depositing in the arteries. We tell all of our patients to get off calcium. Just something to think about. I take d, mag, methylated b vitamins, fish oil, co q 10, taurine, and a Multivitamin.< /p>

I'm not really a vet at one year but what the heck. I took the liquid Calcium posted above and it's actually not too bad. It tastes like yogurt and could be easily mixed into one.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
