Im 6 weeks post op and had some issues with a stricture and an ulcer so i just now a week ago got to progress to soft mushy food stage... i was on full loquids about 7 weeks if u count the 2 pre op liquids i had to do. Ok so now that i started mushies/soft foods i havent lost 1 lb in a week. Ive lost 36 total in 6 weels but that includes the 2 week preop diet loss as well. I am getting all my Protein and all my fluids and basically doing everything by the book and have began to add more exercise into the mix. I figured id really start dropping more after that but instead um stuck. Its very frustrating. So how often should i weigh?? so that i dont panic like this after only a week.. just ready for it to start coming off again. Anyone else experience this so early on? Ive heard of stalls later on but im only a lil over a month out of surgery....

There is an entire forum dedicated to stalls -- you can probably find a lot of support there. But, know that the weight loss comes in spits and spurts. At about 4 weeks out I stayed the same weight for a week and then started losing again. 2 weeks ago I lost 5 pounds in one week and then stayed the same all last week.

It happens... just keep doing what you're suppoesd to do and the weight will start coming off again.

Stalls are not fun, I have had my share of them. Stay positive, stay focused. Read the posts on stalls.

I hit my first stall 2 weeks after surgery.

As others have mentioned, stick with it. Eventually the stall will end and the weight will drop again.

However - if you haven't already done so I recommend taking measurements. I notice that whenever I tend to stall on the scale I make progress with the tape measure, so it is a good way to see that you're still making progress, just in different ways.

Stalls happen here and there. I am almost 10 months out and have lost 121lbs. Trust me the weight will start to fall off again :) stay positive :) My surgery was in November 2013 and this past January I too had a stricture and had to have it dialated and had to return 10 days later to do it again. No fun :( But I promise you this is a phase, it will pass and you will continue to lose weight. Keep your chin up :)

i only use scales when i see a doctor my surgeon told me not to get hung up on the scales which i had begun to do my first 2 weeks and since then i put them in the garage. so i will weigh again September 11th at group meeting then again September 28 at doctor visit.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
