Recommended Posts

All paper work has been submitted to ins for approval. I am waiting on call from doc with surgery date. I am getting things ready!!! My question is for everyone about what Vitamins have you bought to use after surgery. There are some pretty expensive ones out there. What are you using and where did you get them??

I have always used whole food based Vitamins, rather than chemically synthesized ones. Both Source of Life Gold and Garden of Life Vitamin Code are good ones. They contain whole fruits and veggie concentrates, Probiotics, enzymes and cofactors you can't "fake". I actually only take 1/2 the recommended dose and my 6 month labs were great. I get mine in my local whole food store, but they are both available on Amazon.< /p>

I get Vitamins from walgreens. My program does not require any special Vitamins, they just specify what to take and how much.

That said...has your program recommended any? If not, then just head over to cvs, walgreens or whichever store is near you. Get them there. No need for the special bariatric ones unless your Dr has told you otherwise.

I use Alive! For women, Calcium citrate (not Calcium carbonate), vit d, and B12. That's it.

Good luck on your outcome!!

My surgeon recommended Nestle Optisource Post Bariatric Surgery chewable Vitamins. Four a day, not too terrible tasting. You can get them over the counter at walgreens or probably any drug store.

I also take a separate B12 sublingual, per surgeon's recommendation.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
